Mysuru, Mar 26: : City police have launched a manhunt for a man who has gone underground with Rs 35.78 lakh cash that was meant to be loaded in an ATM.
M P Shivakumar, who worked at LogiCash that loads cash into ATMs, has been on the run for the past three days. Shivakumar fled after his company lodged a police complaint against him.
Shivakumar allegedly pocketed the money after claiming that he has replenished the money to an SBM ATM two weeks ago. He allegedly made a false entry in the register and kept quiet. The incident of cheating came to light after the audit team found the money swindled. Upon inquiry, it was found that Shivakumar, who was in charge of filling in cash, has done something wrong.
KR police inspector B S Prashanth said that a case of cheating and criminal breach of trust has been taken up against Shivakumar following a complaint against him by the company authorities. A search is on for him, the inspector added.
