Speaking at a press conference here on Saturday, he said that it was the first time that the four-day national executive meeting would be held in Mangalore. Over 300 functionaries, national executive committee members and student representatives will participate in the four-day event, in which various issues of national concern will be addressed and several resolutions will be passed. National members of World Organisation of Students and Youth (WOSY) will also participate in the meeting. The event will be held at Sanghaniketan in the city, he said.
He said that discussions would take place on issues like the prevailing situation in the country, educational issues and security of women and children. As part of the event, an interactive public meeting with ABVP representatives will be held on May 28 at C V Raman Pai hall at Navabharat Circle in the city. The event will close with a valedictory programme on May 29, he said.
The event will be inaugurated by ABVP national president Prof P Murali Manohar and general secretary Umesh Dutt, he added.
The 2013 annual national executive committee meeting was held in Nagpur.
