Mangalore, Aug 28: A complaint has been filed against activist Teesta Setalvad here for allegedly posting an objectionable image of a Hindu deity on her social networking site.

In his complaint on Tuesday, Naresh Shenoy, a member of Namo Brigade, alleged that Ms. Setalvad, by posting a morphed image of Goddess Durga and Sudarshan Chakra' along with a photograph of American journalist James Foley before he was beheaded by an ISIS terrorist, on Twitter had hurt religious feelings of some people.
The Bunder police have registered a case against her under provisions of the Information Technology Act and Section 153 A (acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) of the Indian Penal Code. Ms. Setalvad has reportedly apologised by terming it an “inadvertent tweet”.
