Mangaluru, Jan 10: As part of its programme to improve service, cut down on long lines at check-in counters, and enhance passenger experience, Airports Authority of India (AAI) has installed a self check-in kiosk at Mangaluru International Airport.
The Airport Director J T Radhakrishna inaugurated the facility on Friday at the domestic departure lounge.
As of now, Jet Airways would allow its domestic departing passengers to use this facility. The Air India is also expected to allow its passengers to use this facility soon.
With this, a passenger with hand baggage need not go to the conventional check-in counter to take the boarding pass. S/he could straight away go to the self check-in kiosk.
First a passenger has to touch the logo of the airliner s/he would be travelling in at the kiosk. After that, they have to enter the PNR number of the ticket or the flight number and other details. The boarding pass will be generated and printed.
