Mangaluru, Jun 18: A photo exhibition on the theme 'Saal Ek Shuruaat Anek', depicting the initiatives undertaken and schemes launched by the Government of India in the last one year after the BJP government came to power at the Centre, organised by Directorate of Advertising and Visual Publicity (DAVP), Bangalore was inaugurated by Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers Ananth Kumar at Hindi Prachara Samithi hall, Lalbagh here on Thursday.
The exhibition consists of photo panels that describe the initiatives and achievements of the BJP government at the Centre led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. About 80 panels consisting of photos and write-ups in English and Kannada have been displayed at the exhibition.
As part of the exhibition, Mr Ananth Kumar flagged off a mobile exhibition van in the presence of Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel and Mangaluru South MLA J R Lobo on the occasion. The van, containing audio-visual devices to disseminate the achievements of the union government in the last one year, will traverse the interiors of the district covering rural areas.
Audio-visual clips on various schemes and initiatives were also played at the venue. The song and drama division conducted a Yakshagana programme as part of a cultural programme to disseminate the messages about the schemes implemented by the union government.
According to Directorate officials, the photo exhibition would be held from Thursday onwards till June 24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. along with a cultural programme at 5 p.m. every day.
