Newsroom, Oct 30: Tauseef Ahmed, an animal rescuer and activist from Mangaluru has won the highest honour at the India for Animals (IFA) national conference organised by FIAPO at Hyderabad recently. He won the award in 'Best Street Care and Rescue' category amongst numerous nominations from the best of the best rescuers all across India.
The 31-year-old has been actively working for animals in and around Mangaluru for the last 9 years. He has been associated with ACT and HART NGO's for the last many years.
He was awarded the special recognition for his rescues and on site treatment of more than 7000 animals which include small and large animals, snakes, birds etc. He has also been working on several campaigns for animals which include humane outreach programs, ending slaughter Cruelty and others.
IFA recognizes exemplary contributions in the field of animal protection amongst hundreds of people all over India once every two years. This is said to be the highest award in India for any animal activist.
