Mangaluru: Annual sports meet held at the Shepherds’ International Academy

Mangaluru, Nov 23:  While celebrating the victories, the objectives of the SPORTS MEET is also to teach the lessons on Team spirit, amity and solidarity to the students. The Shepherds’  International Academy organized their much awaited annual SPORTS DAY-2019 recently at the Jeppu Shantinagara grounds in Mangaluru.

The inaugural ceremony began at 8:30 am with the school prayer sung by the Grade-1 students seeking devine blessings.

The State & National level Shuttle Badminton Player U-17 & U-19 category, Ms. Akansha Pai graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The SPORTS MEET was formally declared open by the Chief Guest starting with Ball in the Basket Game for MONT-1 class with thrills and cheers by the students and the parents.

Chairman Ar. Mohammed Nissar, motivated the students in his address expressing  that education is not only academic achievements, but  growth of mind,  body and the discipline is also important through participating in the sports and games.

For budding children, Sports Day bring a sense of eagerness, while they energetically take part to show their on-field skills. The Shepherds’ students from MONT-1, MONT-2, MONT-3 & Grade-1 classes  participated in various sports & games  like Ball in the Basket, Bunny Jumping, Building the Blocks, Running Race, Balancing the Book, Hoola Hoop Race, Wacky Waiter, Hopping Race, Lemon & the Spoon and Dress to Win. Chief Guest, the Chairman, Trustees and the Administrators honored the winners with Gold, Silver, Bronze Medals and Certificates.

The keen parents gathered in large numbers, repeatedly applauding the young sports stars. The whole day was like a sports fest filled with competitions, fun and laughter.

Vice Principal Asma Syed thanked the Management, all the teachers and other staff, parents and the students for their outstanding support and encouragements.

The day was concluded with the national anthem.
