Mangaluru, Aug 20: Dubai based Bearys Cultural Forum will be distributing scholarships among around 600 economically backward PUC students and as many as 60 wheel chairs among physically challenged people in Dakshina Kannada district.

Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, Dr B K Yusuf, the president of BCF, said that the programme would be inaugurated by health and family welfare minister U T Khadar on August 23 at Loyola hall, St Aloysius College at 1.30 pm.
"For the past 13 years, we have been distributing scholarships to talented students. This year we have decided to give scholarships to 600 economically backward PUC students and 60 wheel chairs to phyisically challenged people,” he said.
He said, there will be career guidance symposium at 9 am by Prof Dr Kaup Mohammed, the dean from UAE London American City College. Mohan Alva, the chairman of Alva's Education Foundation, M Hasan Darvesh the chairman of Darvesh group and BCF ambassador from UAE, B M Farookh the chairman of Fiza group of companies, B Ramanath Rai, the DK district in-charge minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake, the minister for urban development, Naleen Kumar Kateel, MP, Mohiuddin Bava, and J R Lobo, MLAs, Ivan D’Souza, MLC will be present among others.
M Hasan Darvesh and SM Sherif of Kushi group will be awarded CSR special award and K S Saheed Karnire will be honoured with 'Star of Bearys 2015' award. There will be also felicitation programme for students and for people who have achieved glory in sports." he concluded.
