Mangaluru, Sep 30: As part of a month-long publicity campaign to promote and popularise Beary language and culture, Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy will organise ‘Beary Language Day’ in Mangaluru on October 3, for which the official logo was released here on Wednesday.
Releasing the logo for Beary Language Day in the presence of Academy members at the Academy office here on Wednesday, president of the Academy B A Mohammed Haneef said that three persons – Mohammed Zakariya Kalladka, Abdul Latheef Neralakatte and Mohammed Sharief Nirmunje – had been newly appointed as members of the Academy by the government.
The month-long Beary language publicity campaign will be inaugurated by Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner A B Ibrahim in front of the DC office here on Thursday, in presence of Mayor Jacintha Vijaya Alfred, former president of Karnataka State Kannada Sahitya Parishad Harikrishna Punaroor, corporator Abdul Latheef Kandak, Dr Vasanthakumar Perla and K Mohammed.
Beary Language Day
As part of Beary Language Day celebrations, Beary language reading competition will be organised at Muslim Educational Institutes’ Federation (MEIF) office at Lighthouse Hill here on Friday, which will be inaugurated by MEIF president Mohammed Beary Yedapadavu.
On Beary Language Day which will be organised at T V Raman Pai Convention Centre, Kodialbail on October 3, Hameed Pakkaladka, Mohammed Baddoor, Ashraf Apollo, Abdul Khader Kuttethoor, Basheer Ahmed Kinya, Rasheed Nandavar, Mariam Ismail, Ayesha U K and Abdul Azeez Haq will be honoured on the occasion.
As part of the publicity campaign, cultural programmes will be held in different taluks in October – Goltamajalu in Bantwal taluk on October 14, Krishnapura in Suratkal on October 17, Puttur on October 24 and the closing ceremony in Deralakatte on October 31, he said.
Registrar of the Academy Umarabba and members of the Academy were present on the occasion.
