Mangaluru, Aug 2: Still fresh in the minds and hearts of people after his unexpected demise last week in Shillong, a motorcycle rally was held by biking enthusiasts in memory and tribute of former president late APJ Abdul Kalam, in Mangaluru on Sunday.
The rally was organised by Mangalore Jawa Yezdi Motorcycle Club and United Bikers of Mangalore, in association with City Centre Mall, Mangaluru, to show their solidarity towards a great leader and visionary of India.
Around 50 motorcycles, including 22 Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles were part of the rally which was kicked off on Sunday evening in front of City Centre Mall, Hampankatta by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Uday Nayak.
Several biking enthusiasts and members of biker groups including Mangalore Bulls, Nakes Wolves and RevLimiterz participated in the motorcycle rally.
Waving flags, the bikers took part in the rally to show their love and respect for the late scientist who was known as 'People's President'. The motorcycle rally took a short route around the city and culminated at Hotel Woodlands, Balmatta.
