Mangaluru, Apr 22: A city based “training institute” run by a Keralite has been accused of cheating several job aspirants of their money after promising them government jobs and employment in the Army.
On Tuesday, the cheated aspirants lodged a complaint at Mangaluru East (Kadri) police station against a person hailing from Kerala named Santhosh Kumar S who had been giving training to youth from several years through an institute named Academy of Career Guidance Incorporation Trust at Bikarnakatte in the city, giving assurances of fetching government jobs and placements in the Army for the youth.
For training classes, the institute had also provided the youth with accommodation with rent.
From each youth, Santhosh had taken sums from Rs 10,000 up to Rs 1.5 lakh while promising to fetch them good jobs. However, with no news of any offers coming their way, the youth began to lose hope and demanded their money back from Santhosh.
Thereafter, with the news that Santhosh had gone absconding, cheating them of their money, the youth came forward to lodge a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at Kadri police station.
