Mangaluru, Jun 3: A Kerala-based doctor studying in a private medical college in Deralakatte was allegedly assaulted and robbed of valuables and cash by four accused in Kuthar in Ullal police station limits on Monday night.
Dr Titu George Zachariya, who is pursuing his post-graduation in medicine, had been to Sagar Bar and Restaurant in Kuthar on Monday night to have his dinner.
It is said that four persons speaking in Malayalam language struck up a conversation with Dr Titu George and took him along in two motorbikes after he finished his dinner at around 9.15 p.m.
Then, the four accused took him to a lot behind Kanachur Medical Hospital in Deralakatte and robbed him of his mobile phone and purse containing his ATM card, Aadhar card, Hospital Identity card, Motor ID copy, Driving Licence and Rs 1,200 in cash. They also snatched his gold chain weighing 18 grams.
He was then allegedly assaulted by one of the accused, after which they began to hit him on the head with stones.
Managing to escape from the accused, Dr Titu George got himself admitted to K S Hegde Medical Hospital in Deralakatte and subsequently lodged a complaint at Ullal police station.
