Dubai, Nov 6: The mega Udyoga Mela scheduled for November 19 and 20 in Mangaluru will be a platform for the youth in the region to get access to the better employment opportunities including in Middle East, according to AB Ibrahim, the deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada.

He was speaking at a summit of entrepreneurs from the coastal region residing in the Middle East convened by B Ramanath Rai, the district-in charge minister of Dakshina Kannada on Thursday at Radisson Blue Hotel Deira, Dubai, as part of preparation for the job fair.
He said that even though people from all over the state can participate in the mega job fair, preference will be given to people from coastal district in general and Mangaluru in particular.
Mr Ibrahim requested the companies run by NRIs in the Gulf to participate in the job fair promising all kinds of facilities for their representatives during two day event.
NRI business barons, CEOs and representatives of different companies and shared their opinions and suggestions in the presence of Ramanath Rai, the brain behind the mega job fair.
Ramanath Rai earlier said that as around 200 firms had orally confirmed their participation in the Mangaluru Udyoga Mela, scheduled to be held at Canara Engineering College in Benjanapadavu.
This includes manufacturing, IT, construction, sales and retails, banking and healthcare and hospitality firms. Briefing media persons here on Monday, he said that private firms like Oracle, Toyota, IBM, L&T, TCS, Narayana Hrudayalaya, NMC, Thumbay Group and others were also participating in the mela.
