Mangaluru, Sep 11: The Kuwait Kerala Muslim Association (KKMA) organised a programme in the city on Saturday to distribute scholarships among meritorious students.
A total of Rs 1.38 lakh cash was distributed among 15 students by the guests. On the same occasion, the keys of a newly built house at Sajipa on the outskirts of the city, was handed over to the beneficiary, Hajiramma.
SM Farooq, the Karnataka state unit convenor of the KKMA, speaking on the occasion said that the Association will continue its charity activities.
The KKMA will provide free dialysis for poor and needy kidney patients. It will bear expenses of 20 dialysis per patient (Rs 6,00 X 20 = Rs 12,000).
It also will continue construction of houses for needy families. A house is under construction BC Road currently. Two more houses will be constructed at Mallarapatna and Bajal.
SM Rashid Haji, Abdul Rauoof Puthige, Sharafuddin BS, Khasim Ahmed, Saif Sulthan were among the guests.
