Mangaluru, Mar 29: A man was killed and eight people suffered injuries a speeding car rammed into a stationary truck near MCF in Panambur here today morning.
The deceased has been identified as Hanumantaiah, a native of Gadag, who was driving the car.
The ill-fated Innova car was heading towards Kerala from Gadag. The driver failed to notice the parked truck and rammed it from the behind.
The impact was such that the car reduced into a bundle of metals and the driver died on the spot.
The injured are Vishweshwaraiah, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhagya Jyothi, Sumangala Devi and children Gnana Sinchana, Mohith, Pranavya, and Mahadev. All of them have been shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
