Mangaluru, Jul 4: Trees are the kindest things to grow, this has been rightly said as the needs of all living things are fulfilled by them, but their depleting number has become a serious issue, and taking initiative on this concern, The Shepherds’ International Academy, a prestigious school in the city, celebrated VANAMAHOTSAVA on 29th June in its premises at Ivory Towers in Attavar with a slogan “Nurture the Nature”. The dress code was green to remind the children the importance of trees in the environment.

To make the children appreciate and protect the natural resources, a short film was showcased on an LCD projector highlighting the negative effects of de-forestation not only harms the ecosystem of the animals, but also disturbs the delicate balance of nature. The need of planting and tending of trees is one of the best ways to prevent global warming and reduce pollution.

The students along with the teachers took a pledge to do their best to grow more trees and lessen the menace of pollution.

Trustees A K Shajid, S M Farooq, CAO Hasan Yusuf and Vice Principal Sajida Fatima participated in the event.

The program was concluded with students planting few seeds in large pots at the school premises. When you plant a tree, you plant a hope for future.
