Mangaluru: Speeding car knocks down 75-year-old man at Bikarnakatte

Mangaluru, Nov 29: In a gruesome accident, an elderly pedestrian was crushed to death by speeding car near Infant Jesus Shrine at Bikarnakatte in the city yesterday.

The victim has been identified as Thomas Crasta (75), a resident of Kulshekara. He was working as a security guard at the shrine. 

Crasta was going to Moodbidri to visit his son on Tuesday morning around 6.30am. As he was crossing the road to catch a bus, a speeding car coming from Nanthoor hit him. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to injuries.

On November 2, an elderly woman was killed on the same spot after she was ran over by a speeding bus while she was crossing the road. A case has been registered at traffic east police station.
