Mangaluru, Nov 17: The police have arrested two persons in connection with gathering in a group and possessing arms despite prohibitory orders in Mangaluru North police station limits on Saturday.

Mangaluru Police Commissioner S Murugan said that said that around seven persons had gathered in J M Road in Binder despite section 144 prohibiting the gathering of more than three persons in a public place.
On suspicion, when the police tried to interrogate them, the persons who were armed, fled from the scene.
Among them, the accused Arif who had an iron rod, threw it at the police constables, injuring one of them, he said, adding that a case had been registered in connection with this.
Deputy Commissioner AB Ibrahim had clamped three day prohibitory orders under Section 144 of IPC in Dakhsina Kannada district in from last Friday morning to Sunday night.
However, Mr Murgan said that in Ullal and Surathkal areas the prohibitory orders has been extended for three more days from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. as part of precautionary measures.
