Mangaluru, Apr 7: Within a day after an assistant sub-inspector of police in was attacked by two motorbike-borne miscreants in Mangaluru, the city police managed to nab two suspects on Thursday.

Confirming the arrests, city police chief M Chandra Sekhar said the police teams set up to nab the accused picked up the duo. They were produced before the court on Friday.
“We will come to know their intentions behind the incident as they are being subject to interrogation," he said, adding that police are also ascertaining Sameer's involvement in pushing aside a police constable in Konaje in a traffic related incident.
Two unidentified miscreants had attacked Aithappa, ASI attached to Urwa police station, with an iron road near Lady Hill Circle in the city in the wee hours of Wednesday, when he was on night rounds. He is still undergoing treatment at a hospital and expected to be realised within a couple of days.
