Udupi, Jan 12: In an apparent attempt to create communal disturbance in the region, unidentified miscreants have distributed the pamphlets containing obscene photographs of a young couple that had appeared in Facebook earlier this week.

Many such pamphlets were found near colleges in Manipal and Udupi on Saturday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police of Udupi Prabhudev Mane said that the police had registered a case based on the complaint filed by a few students and are conducting investigation.
Yasir, in whose Facebook account the objectionable pictures had appeared for the first time, was arrested on Thursday. It is learnt that Yasir's another girl friend had hacked his Facebook account and posted the images.
Meanwhile, Udupi Superintendent of Police Dr M B Boralingaiah clarified that the case was registered based on the statement the girl, who had engaged in sexual acts with Yasir. “She has not mentioned about any sexual assault or blackmail in her complaint. During inquiry also she never made such complaint. Yasir has said that his another girlfriend in Dubai uploaded the photographs without his knowledge”, he said adding that police are investigating the case in all angles.
