Bagalkot, Apr 7: In what could come as an embarrassment for the ruling Congress in Karnataka, an audio clip of an intimate conversation between Jamakhandi MLA Siddu Nyamagouda, and a woman, said to be a party worker, has gone viral on social media.

68-year-old Nyamagouda is a veteran Congress leader from Bagalkot, who served as union minister in the past. The 16-minute audio conversation has become a talking point in the district amidst preparations for the upcoming assembly polls.
Meanwhile, Siddu Nyamagouda, who shot to fame with his giant-killing act in 1991 Lok Sabha elections, during which he defeated Ramakrishna Hegde, told said that the audio clip is fake and fabricated.
"With the Assembly elections round the corner, this is a conspiracy by my detractors to mar my reputation. I have taken up many development works in my constituency. Those unable to digest my popularity are behind this audio clip," the legislator said.
"I will lodge a complaint with the Superintendent of Police, seeking a thorough investigation into the clip and taken action against those behind the act," Nyamagouda said.
