Mangaluru, Sep 29: Nalin Kumar Kateel, the Dakshina Kannada MP, has said that a fisheries jetty would come up at Kulai on the outskirts of the city, as the union government has approved the project.

He said, the jetty would be constructed with funds from the Union government, State government and New Mangalore Port Trust.
Model village
Referring to progress of works at Balpa village in Dakshina Kannada under Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, he said that about 35 solar street lights had been installed there.
A hospital building was being repaired. The gram panchayat building in the village would be re-built like a Mini-Vidhana Soudha so that all government services pertaining to the village should be available under one platform.
He said that works worth Rs. 5 crore would be taken up in the village in the current financial year.
He said that he was thinking of building a garden, walking path, a meditation centre, yoga training centre and library under one roof on a five-acre land between Keanya and Balpa. It should attract tourists.
