Mangalore, June 26: Heavy security arrangements have been made at Dharmasthala ahead of the much talked about visit of two prominent political figures of Karnataka- Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy.
Three DySPs, 11 police inspectors, 21 SIs, 15 ASIs, and 240 head constables and civil constables are being deployed for bandobast duties in an around Dharmasthala in view of public engagements of CM and former CM at Dharmasthala on Sunday and Monday.
Police personnel will also be posted along the route that CM will take from Subrahmanya railway station to Dharmasthala, back to Subramanhya temple and from there to Mangalore on June 27.
Heggade welcomes decision
Meanwhile, D Veerendra Heggade, the Dharmadhikari of Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala has welcomed the decision taken by Yeddyurappa and Kumaraswamy to rescind their decision to prove their point by making a solemn oath before idol of Manjunatha, the presiding deity of the Kshetra.
In his first public statement on the issue ever since the oath episode made headlines internationally, Heggade said he was personally happy with their decision.
Heggade said the decision of the two leaders to end the oath challenge, and instead focus on the overall development of the state and work for the betterment of people of Karnataka and pray for the Lord's blessings in this regard is a welcome development.
Heggade also appealed to both these leaders to come with as few supporters as possible to the temple keeping in mind the inconvenience that it would cause to the other devotees there.
