Malemar residents vent ire against MCC for delay in road repair

Mangalore, March 5: Members of the Jana Hitharakshana Samithi, Malemar, staged a protest in front of Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) on Monday, March 5 demanding immediate repair of the road from Chowki highway to Konchadi.

The protestors, who belong to the 17th and 23rd Wards of the Corporation, alleged that in spite of repeated requests and appeals, the concerned authorities were turning a deaf ear as far as repair work of sewage and road from Chowki highway to Konchady is concerned.

They warned that if authorities don't act swiftly, their agitation would be intensified.

Members of the Samithi have also placed before the Commissioner of the MCC, a written appeal stating that in case the Corporation is not willing to or is not being able to do the needful, a permission letter be given to the Samithi to carry out the repair works itself.
