Free eye check-up and treatment camp held

Mangalore, November 20: Andhara Seva Sangha (ASS) Dakshina Kannada, conducted its 178th free eye check-up and treatment camp, recently at Government Higher Primary School in Manjanady, in association with Jamiyyatul Falah, Mangalore.

Over 150 members were screened at the camp by Ophthalmologists Dr Jayaram Shetty from K S Hegde Medical Academy (KSHEMA), Deralakatte, and Dr Norman Mendonca from Father Muller Medical Academy, Mangalore.

As many as 45 members were given free medicines and 80 were provided with free spectacles. Provisions were made for 25 patients to be treated in KSHEMA and Father Muller Hospital.

President of JF, Mangalore, B S Mohammed Basheer, Zilla Panchayat member (Konaje area) N S Kareem, Manjanady Gram Panchayat president Ismail Doddamane and Taluk Panchayat members Ismail and Ataullah graced the occasion.

President, vice-president and members of ASS and Jamiyyatul Falah participated in the camp.
