
Mangalore, December 1: A rowdy-sheeter was brutally done to death on Saturday night near Unity Hospital at Falnir, in the city.
The deceased has been identified as Bijay Raj, alias (46), who was an accused in two murder cases including the murder case of his former mentor Pandu Pai.
However, he was acquitted in September 2010 in Pandu Pai murder case due to lack of evidence.
He was chased, stabbed and bludgeoned to death by a gang of three miscreants in full public view at around 10:00 p.m., when he was talking over phone at a coin booth at Westside Terminal building, sources said.
Bijay Raj was immediately taken to the Unity Hospital, where doctors confirmed his death. Later his body was shifted to mortuary at Wenlock Hospital.
A case has been registered at Pandeshwar Police Station.
