Mangalore, December 11: A college student belonging to 'Student Federation of India' was allegedly assaulted by a group of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad workers on their college premises in the city.

The injured Santosh D'Souza, a second year student of Narayana Guru Pre University College, Alake, has lodged a complaint with Mangalore North Police Station against 15 students of the same college including Akash and Guruprasad.

Mr D'Souza, who is an activist of SFI, in his complaint, stated that he was beaten up inside the college compound and canteen by the ABVP activists.

It is learnt that Mr D'Souza had distributed pamphlets among his college mates regarding a programme recently organised by SFI as part of 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanada at St. Aloysius College, Mangalore.

The ABVP activists of the college had reportedly warned their fellow students not to participate in the programme.
