Mangalore, December 13: Dozens of students of Rosa Mystica Educational Institutions staged a protest against their principal for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindu boys.
The students who gathered outside the of Gurpur based college on Wednesday morning shouted slogans against principal Jessi Crasta for her alleged “mistreatment” of four Hindu students studying in PUC, who had taken up Shabarimala vow and used to attend classes in Shabarimala attire.
It is learnt that on Wednesday morning the principal reportedly put the four students out of the class. Angered by the principal's move, the classmates and friends of four students walked out of the class and protested on the streets.
Even though the administration tried to calm down the students, they agitators did not budge and started narrating the atrocities committed by the principal on students on various occasion.
Bajpe police inspector Dinakar Shetty, who visited the spot, assured the students that he shall discuss the matter with the college administration and find a solution.
However, the college administration has denied all the allegations made against principal by the students.
A couple of years earlier too the students of same college had protested against same principal when she allegedly warned the female students against wearing flowers and force them to remove flowers.
The principal had also forced the students to remove 'rakhis' during 'raksha bandhan', alleged a few students.
The principal had also reportedly warned Muslim students against offering namaz inside classroom and campus.
