Mangalore, Jan 8: Dakshina Kannada district administration will be joining hands with Ramakrishna Mutt to organise 'National Youth Day' and 'Yuvajanotsav Camp' to mark 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
He said the programme aims to instill preachings of Swami Vivekananda in the minds of new generation.
On the inaugural day the programme will be called as 'Viveka Chethana,' in which over 600 youth are expected participate. On the following day, over 5000 students are expected to participate in a rally called 'Viveka Sanchalana,' The rally will be flagged off at Nehru Maidan by Nitte University Chancellor N Vinay Hegde and culminate at Ramakrishna Mutt after passing through Corporation Bank and Mangaladevi, Mr Prakash said.
Special screening of photos on Swami Vivekananda and display of books and CDs related to him will be special features on the on occasion.
Ramakrishna Mutt seer Atmaroopananda, who was also present on the occasion, said that on January 13, the Mutt will organise 'Viveka Vandana', in which Yakshagana will be performed in Thenkuthittu and Badaguthittu styles.
On the following day, i.e. on January 14, 'Viveka Namana' will be held wherein Kudroli Ganesh will perform magic, he said.
He said that the Mutt will also hold a seminar for the primary school teachers on 'value education' on January 15 at 9.30 am in association with Zilla Panchayat. On January 16, 'Viveka jagrithi,' a youth convention will be organised in association with AIR.
The celebration will conclude on January 17, with Viveka Manthana, a convention of teachers, he said.
