Ullal, Jan 9: A youth has lodged complaint against his own friend, alleging him of having hatched plot to kill him.
Mohommad Ilyas, son of M A hameed of Badriyanagar of Pavoor village is the victim who in his complaint said that his friend on Monday tried to take revenge on him by making him to death. Thufail from Thaudugoli Cross, Imran, Savad are the accused.
It is said that Ilyas and Thufail (the prime accused) were friends who had started lucky dip scheme. Since they had seen loss in the same venture they had wound up the scheme. Following this, several cases were filed against Ilyas by the ones who joined the lucky dip. However, Ilyas had promised the customers to return commodities of the amount that they had deposited in his venture.
Internal differences soon resulted in an altercation between the business partners-Thufail and Ilyas and this fuelled a sense of enmity between the two.
On Monday, Ilyas was reportedly kidnapped by three of his acquaintances accompanied by five others, when he was standing near State Bank. The group took Ilyas to an isolated area and assaulted him and looted him of Rs 30,000, his mobile phone and ATM card. However, local residents came to his rescue listening to his cry. Sensing trouble, the miscreants then drove Ilyas to Ullal Sea Road and assaulted him with weapons.
He was then taken to Mudipugudde but here, a local resident who knew Ilyas informed about the same to Ilyas's father. Immediately the police was called in and when the cops stopped the vehicle at Asaigoli, the kidnappers fled the scene.
While Ilyas managed to escape from the clutches of the kidnappers, he fell unconscious on the rail track. Locals informed about the same to Ilyas's family and on Monday night, he was admitted to Wenlock Hospital. Case has been registered.
