Mangalore, January 13: M Veerappa Moily, Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas, has rubbished rumours of a possible hike in diesel, LPG and kerosene rates.

Speaking to media persons in Mangalore on Saturday, Mr. Moily said that hike in prices of diesel, LPG and kerosene is still being discussed and said that no decision has been taken yet on increasing the annual subsidy cap of LPG cylinders from six to nine.
Responding to a query on the reported statements of industrialist Anil Ambani comparing Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to Mahatma Gandhi, Mr. Moily said that the comparison does not make sense.
“Gandhi stood for non-violence and truth, while Modi was the Chief Minister when a massacre occurred in Gujarat. If Gandhi was alive, he would have staged satyagraha against the massacre” he said.
On the killing of Indian soldiers along the Line of Control and the Government's, he said the Government is serious about the incident and condemned Pakistan for not even issuing “a statement of remorse”.
