Speaking to media persons on the sidelines of a function in the city, Dr Bhardwaj said he welcomed the decision of the Union Government which had decided to set up four other such Universities in the country and one at Srirangapatna in the state.
Earlier, BJP spokesperson G Madhusudhan had said earlier in the day in Mysore that the state government will not allot 2000 acres for the proposed University as it was a political game played by the Congress to keep its 'vote bank' happy. He had alleged that such a University will be a breeding ground for extremist elements including terrorists.
Responding to a question, Dr Bhardwaj said that he would not hesitate to take necessary action against government if opposition parties prove that Jagadish Shettar led government reduced to minority in the state.
The governor held corrupt politicians of ruling BJP in the state for delay in appointing Lokayukta.
Stating that most of the government Ministers and MLAs are indulging in corruption in the State, he said that that is the reason government is delaying the appointment of Lokayukta.
