Announcing this at a press conference here on Thursday, staff convenor of the fest Laxmi Shenoy said that the two-day event would include various competitions, media workshops and panel discussions, screening of films and a photography exhibition based on the theme.
During the fest, local film-makers such as Tulu producer of 'Oriyardori Asal' fame Vijayakumar Kodialbail, director of 'Janleva 555' fame Sandeep Malani and Tulu film actor Arjun Kapikad will be felicitated. Workshops on acting and anchoring, radio jockeying, film direction and techniques and web designing will be conducted free of cost by media experts and personalities.
The fest will have competitions such as 8x10 Tasveer (Photography), Bol Bachchan (RJ Hunt), Taare Zameen Par (Quiz), Pehchaan Kaun (Mock Press), Kahani (Trailer-making), Golmaal (Movie Spoof), Viraam (Ad-making), Makhdi Ki Jaal (Web Designing), Peepli Live (Video Bulletin) and Chitragupt (Film Review), she said.
A panel discussion on the topic 'cultural diversity in Indian cinema' will be conducted, followed by interactive talks on 'commerce of the scientific art' and 'Indian Cinema through the ages' by panelists and resource persons. Films will also be screened as part of the event, she said.
The inaugural ceremony will be held at 9.30 a.m. on Monday at Eric Mathais Hall. District Information Officer Rohini K will be the chief guest on the occasion, and Sandeep Malani and Vijayakumar Kodialbail will be the guests of honour. The valedictory programme will be held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday in the college.
Student co-ordinator Kiran Shenoy and Sudeep Shenoy were present at the press conference.
