Mangalore, Jan 22: Flex hoardings and advertisements in a couple of areas in the city of Mangalore were blackened on Monday by officials of Mangalore City Corporation.

Speaking to Coastaldigest.com, Praveen from MCC Revenue Department said that a couple of hoardings were removed and flex banners were blackened in Hampankatta, Pandeshwar, Kadri and Mangaladevi by MCC workers.

The Department blackened those hoardings and banners to which payments had not been made by the advertisers, or those whose validity of rented duration had expired. An unauthorised hoarding put up at an upcoming apartment was also removed. Such banners and hoardings will continue to be removed in Airport Road and other areas in and around the city, he said.

Few posters were also blackened.
