
Mangalore, Jan 30: The second edition of the Kannada translation of Quran, translated by Abdussalam Puthige and published by Madhyama Prakashana, Bangalore, will be released on February 1.
Disclosing this at a news conference on Wednesday, Yasin Malpe, Convenor, Forum for Humanity, Udupi, said that the programme will be held at Town Hall in Mangalore at 6:45 pm.
Pejawar seer Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji will release the book. Y Abdulla Kunhi, Chancellor, Yenepoya University, Mangalore, Msgr Dennis Prabhu, Vicar General, Diocese of Mangalore, Ajith Kumar Rai Malady, President, Federation of World Bunts' Associations, Dr. Ganesh Amin Sankamar, Lecturer, St Aloysius College, Mangalore and Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, President, DK District Kannada Sahitya Parishad will be the chief guests.
Abdussalam Puthige, the translator, will preside over the programme.
The first edition of the book was published on September 1 last year where 4,000 copies were printed. This time, for the second edition of the same, 6,000 copies have been printed, Mr. Malpe said.
The programme is being organized jointly by Forum for Humanity, Mangalore and Yuvavahini Kendra Samithi.
Vijay Kumar Kubevur, President, Yuvavahini Kendra Samithi, Umar U H, Convenor of the programme and Yashwanth Poojary, Joint Convenor, were present in the press meet.
