Bantwal, Feb 13: As part of 'Message of Prophet' campaign, the Vittla unit of All India Imams' Council (AIIC) held a massive public programme 'Hubb-ur-Rasool' on Monday in the maidan near town masjid in Vittla.

Addressing the gathering, JD(S) Dakshina Kannada district secretary Mohammed Kunhi Vitla, chief guest of the programme, said that rather than politicising the issue of establishing a central university after Tipu Sultan, everyone should learn about the qualities of social leadership he had.

Dakshina Kannada Zilla panchayat member M S Mohammed said that people of secular temperament would never perceive Tipu Sultan as a communal person. “It is communal persons themselves who think so,” he said and urged people with secular attitude to unite and fight for the setting-up of Tipu University.

AIIC Kerala state committee member Uwaisi Mohammed Nadvi Kollam discoursed in detail how to live according to the life and principles of Prophet Mohammed (SAW) in the deteriorating society.

Revealing the fascist ideology responsible for the portrayal of Muslims as terrorists, he said that Islam never encouraged terrorism or extremism.

PFI Sullia zone secretary Shafi Bellary described Prophet Mohammed's social mission to the gathering and gave a call to the people to fulfill their social responsibility of preventing others for committing offences.

DK district president of IAAC Abdullah Madani made the presidential speech. Syed Ibrahim Al-Hadi Thangal Attoor delivered the inaugural address.

PFI Kabaka zone president Ashraf Bavu, Vittla zone president Abdul Azeez Kadambu, SDPI Vittla zone president Aboobaker M and others were present.
