Mangalore, Feb 22: Applications have been invited by the Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy for its annual honorary awards and literary prizes for the year 2012-13.
Four personalities who have rendered significant service in various fields such as Beary language, literature, art and study and two personalities with achievements in the field of Beary language and art will be conferred with honorary awards for the year 2012-13.
Applications can be submitted by achievers themselves or anybody on their behalf. Those applications submitted in the previous year will also be considered, and additional information regarding those applicants will be welcomed by the Academy.
New applications should be submitted along with the details of the achiever only in the prescribed application form which can be availed at the Academy office.
Filled forms should be submitted along with a recent photograph and necessary records through mail or in person.
Literary prize project
Applications of authors or publishers can be submitted for the literary prize for the year 2012. Those books published between 1-1-2012 and 31-12-2012 will be considered for the literary prize. Authors previously awarded with the literary prize will not be considered for the prize for the next three years.
Four copies of the book written by the author should be submitted along with the details and application form.
Literature including translations of Beary language, Beary poems, stories, novels, poetry, research novels on Beary language and works of plays shall be considered for the literary prize.
The applications should be addressed to the President/Registrar, Karnataka Beary Sahitya Academy, Presidium Commercial Complex, Attavar – Nandigudda Road, Mangalore -575001.
The last date for submission of applications is March 5.
