Mangalore, Mar 8: The Journalism students of city based Besant Women's College, organised a street play on the occasion of International Women's Day on the theme 'make a difference' in your own way and in bringing about a change in our society.
Performing on the occasion, the students of the College traced the problems the present woman is facing and put the public to think on those issues which need to be addressed.
Trupthi , the student of final year, the narrator of the play stressed upon the need to check the incidents of violence against women and put an end to it. Through her narration, she reached each and every bystander asking them to think about the recent plight the women are facing and questioned as to who should be held responsible for the problems shooting up every minute in our country.
The students through the play enacted scenes where women undergo harassment and oppression. The play concludes on the note, that given a chance each and every individual can bring about change and thus can contribute towards building a better and healthy India.
The play of twenty minutes duration was performed in front of District Commissioner office, Central Market, Temple square Car Street, City Centre, Besant Women's College and in Front of Empire Mall. More than 20 students participated in the play.
