Mangalore, Mar 13: Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) has bagged six seats in Dakshina Kannada Urban Local Body polls. The party calling the victory to be 'triumph of value-based politics' has attributed success to the services it has been doing for the people.

Party Distirct President Abdul Jaleel said that the Party has won six seats, which is a huge success, considering the fact that the Party was contesting for the first time.

“The electorate did not fall prey to the false promises, perks and gifts showered by other parties,” he said addressing a news conference.

Mr Jaleel said that the party will be strengthened in the district further.

He alleged members of certain parties of luring electorate by bribing them.

“We have brought this to the attention of the Election Officers,” he said adding that SDPI will emerge as a strong alternative for the BJP and the Congress.
