According to police, someone threw a firecracker into Ram Bhavan Hotel belonging to the defeated Congress candidate Ajit Rao. No one was injured in the incident.

The incident led to a tense situation in the area for some time as a large number of Congress workers gathered there demanding an apology.

However, the police intervened and dispersed the Congress workers.

Speaking to media persons Janardhan Bhandarkar, General Secretary of district unit of Congress said that the fire cracker was thrown at around 8:00 p.m. The act showed the arrogance of BJP.
