Shreyas was escorted by police to the examination centre at Milagres College, where he studied his PUC.
While hearing a bail application filed by six accused of Mangalore home-stay attack, the first additional district and sessions court, had observed earlier this month that Shreyas could be allowed to write his examination under police escort.
"It is desirable to say that petitioner number six (Shreyas) for any reason by any ground if is not released on bail until examinations, can be permitted to attend the examinations under police escort," stated first additional district and sessions judge Majage Nijagunappa.
The deputy director for PU Education had sent a letter following the court's observation to the principal of Milagres College to take necessary action in this regard.
Shreyas has been incarcerated ever since he was arrested on October 10, 2012 in connection with the home stay attack incident. He is accused number 41 in the home stay attack case wherein a group of Hindu Jagarana Vedike members barged into Morning Mist Home Stay at Padil on the outskirts of the city and attacked a group of college students who were celebrating a birthday, on July 28, 2012.
Family sources said that Shreyas prepared for exam in jail. He will be able to pursue higher education if he was granted bail, they added.
