Bangalore, Mar 15: Pledging to eradicate corruption from the state, a new political party has come into existence in Karnataka.
The 'Bharatiya Dr B?R?Ambedkar Janata Party' (BAJP), which was formally inaugurated on Thursday in Bangalore, is expected to contest the impending Assembly polls.
Ironically the party's founder is T Rajanna, who had been dismissed from service as secretary to the Legislative Assembly following graft charges.
The BJAP would field candidates in all the 224 Assembly seats, said the General Secretary of the party, Shivarudraiah.
Sri Ram Sena leader Pramod Muthalik, who was also present on the occasion, said that his group would support BAJP in building a corruption-free society.
The party also released its election manifesto which promises many things including clean administration and maximum support to farmers.
In 2008, a special inquiry board headed by then Governor of Karnataka and two other members namely Speaker of the Assembly Krishna and Chairman of the Legislative Council B.K. Chandrashekar, had taken decision to dismiss Mr Rajanna for misappropriation of Government funds.
