Mangalore, Mar 18: Chief Minister of Karnataka Jagadish Shettar is confident that the Urban Local Body election results will not hold any impact on the Assembly polls.
Addressing the reporters at the airport on Monday, during his visit to the city to unveil various developmental works, Mr Shettar said that only 22 per cent of the total population of the state is connected to the ULB polls.
Hence, the ULB poll results cannot be considered as a pre-cursor to the upcoming Assembly polls.
“The ULB polls revolve around the local problems and are more so dependent on the personality of the candidates. This will have no impact on the assembly polls.”
The CM said that the state is reeling under power shortage but all steps will be taken to provide undisturbed power supply during examination time.
Commenting on the thermal power plant at Niddodi, the CM said that at present only a prospective location has been chosen but the final call on the project will be taken only after taking all the people concerned into confidence.
With regard to the BJP State Chief's post, the CM said that the decision is left to the party high command.
