The victim has been identified Siraj, a 28-year-old youth from Kuppepadavu in Mangalore taluk of Karnataka State.
According to local sources, Siraj was shot at Mahalaa village on the outskirts of Qatif, a prominent town in the Eastern Province of the oil-rich Kingdom.
The incident occurred on Saturday night, while he entered neighboring mazra (farm) without permission.
The accused reportedly surrendered himself to Qatif police station.
Siraj's body has been kept in a mortuary of a hospital in the city of Dammam.
Activists of India Fraternity Forum in Dammam are reportedly in touch with the hospital authorities to accomplish the formalities before performing the final rites.
Sources said that Siraj, who flew into Saudi Arabia six months ago, was working as a house driver in Qatif.
Siraj is survived by his wife, two children and parents.
IFF sources said that Abdul Jaleel Krishnapura, a social activist from Dakshina Kannada, was closely coordinating with them for smoothening the formalities from India.
Relatives, friends, and well-wishers in and around Dammam have expressed condolences on Sirja's untimely death.
