
Senior BJP leaders of Karnataka including chief minister Jagadish Shettar, Bangalore M P Ananth Kumar, deputy chief minister Eshwarappa, former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda will be attending the party convention to be held at Nehru Maidan in city on March 29, said Padmanabha Kottari, BJP president, DK district.
He said that the convention, wherein 10 members from every booth will attend, is a part of BJP's campaign for May 5 polls, he said adding that the saffron party in coastal district has already started campaign.
He said that the selection process of candidates in the eight constituencies of Dakshina Kannada is complete. “We are confident that they all will win,” he said.
Congratulating the new the newly-appointed state BJP president MP Prahlad Joshi, he said that Mr Joshi would lead the party to victory. “We will prepare for the elections based on the achievements of the state government over the past five years,” he said.
Prathap Simha Nayak, Sanjeeva Mantandoor, Yogaraj Shetty, Franklin Monteiro and Raj Gopal Rai were present at the press meet.
