Mangalore, Apr 8: A 35-year-old manager of a private firm was brutally hacked to death by some unidentified assailants Sunday late night in Mangalore.
The maimed body of Prashant alias Pachu, manager of city based Sri Adhinatheshwara Roadlines, was found near his car parked near Mangala Bar at Valencia area at around 11:30 p.m.
The police who rushed to the spot soon after receiving the information said that Prashant's 'Fortuner' car was damaged by the assailants and blood stains were also found inside the car.
Local sources said that a group of miscreants, who came armed with sharp weapons, waylaid Prashant, chased and hacked him to death before fleeing the spot.
However no eye witnesses were available when the police reached the spot. The body was then shifted to Government Wenlock Hospital for post-mortem.
A case has been registered and investigations are on.
