“Sriramulu had come to Shettar to inquire about chances of merging his party with the BJP. However, no decision was taken,” said a source.
Madan Patel of BSR?Congress, however, said there was no scope for the party's merger with the BJP.
“Sriramulu and Shettar had a discussion for about 15 minutes. However, the discussion was regarding a problem pertaining to Sriramulu's constituency. He is still an elected representative and has every right to meet the chief minister and discuss any matter. We have fielded 210 candidates for the Assembly polls and talks on merger will only backfire on us,” he added.
When questioned about talks about party worker and actor Rakshita opting to quit BSR?Congress, Patel said the party has not received resignation from her.
