Mangalore, Apr 15: A 55-year-old real estate agent was found dead under suspicious circumstances, at Padu Bondanthila near Neermarga about 12 kms from Mangalore on Monday morning.
Police sources say that the deceased, Krishnappa Poojary, had involved in several real estate dealings in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts.
Though it is suspected to be a murder case, police have sent the dead body for post mortem to identify the cause of the death.
Meanwhile, the family of the deceased said that Poojary had not returned home on Sunday evening.
“He had left home after receiving a call on Sunday afternoon. He went alone in his Bolero car. His family members don't know where did he go and who called him”, said one of his relative.
On Monday, the family members were informed that Poojary ended his life. Liquor bottles were also found in his car.
However, family members said that he cannot commit suicide. Many of his friends had taken huge amount of loans from him, they said.
Poojary had plunged into real estate business about six years ago after selling his small vegetable shop and saloon in Ujiri for a sum of 1.25 lakh. It is learnt that he had gained lot of success in real estate business and was involved in dealings of nearly Rs. 1.5 crore.
Police said they were probing from all angles, including sharing of the commission. A case has been registered at Kankanady police station. More details awaited
