
According to sources, JD(S) has promised her ticket from Rajarajeshwari Nagar constituency.
Rumours were rife that she would join the BJP, as before quitting the party, she had even met Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok.
Rakshita, who was also the women's wing chief of BSR Congress, is understood to have told party president Sriramulu that lack of support from party workers had led her to quit the party.
General Secretary of BSR Congress Raveendra Reshme said he had learnt that Ms. Rakshita touted as the “star campaigner” for the party, quit because of “non-cooperation” by workers in Chamarajanagar.
Ms. Rakshita had sought the party ticket to contest from Rajarajeshwarinagar, but she was asked to contest from Chamarajanagar. However, party workers had protested against her candidature in the constituency.
