Speaking at the Ramotsav celebrations organised in Nehru Maidan by Vishwa Hindu Parishat, Bajarang Dal, Mathrumandali, Durga Vahini and Shri Ramotsava Samiti, he said that there were several examples depicting Rama as a great personality and not a selfish one. It is unfortunate that in these times people raise questions about his authenticity. Our Union government has set out to demolish Ramasethu, hurting the sentiments of thousands of Hindus, which is not right, he observed.

In his foreword, Vishwa Hindu Parishat State Vice President M B Puranik said that although the principles followed by Lord Rama were highly acclaimed, it was unfortunate that his name was being associated with communalism. He declared starting a card revolution in coming days regarding the construction of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Raghunath Somayaji, Ashish Bhandary, Sudhakar Rao Pejavara, Sunil Achar, leader Dr Vishnu Prabhu, Shivanand Mendon and others were present.
President of Shri Ramotsava Samiti Pushparaj Jain welcomed the gathering. Treasurer Jitendra S Kottari compered the programme.
